Brand new app raises money for Self Unlimited’s Design for Life Appeal.

Celebrated hairdresser and great supporter of Self Unlimited, Andrew Collinge, has launched a new iPad and iPhone app that will boost The Design for Life Appeal of which he is chairman. The app is called ‘The 2 Minute Up-Do’ and can be downloaded from the app store for free. It features an interactive Gallery of some of Andrew’s work and an audio visual History of the Collinge family of hairdressers. Within the app customers can then choose to buy up to four short videos that reveal Andrew’s world famous skills for the dressing of long hair.
Says Andrew, “The techniques I use are quick and simple to follow and all of the up-do’s are secured by just one pin. The styles are fun and easy to achieve. I hope people enjoy them and get behind Design for Life at the same time.” The videos cost £1.19 each and money spent, less the app store’s commission, goes straight to The Design for Life Appeal. To find the app simply go to the store and search for ‘Andrew Collinge’; or follow this link -
The ‘Design for Life’ Appeal, chaired by local celebrity hairdresser Andrew Collinge, aims to raise £2m to transform facilities at Stanley Grange, our regional hub in the North West and provide people with bright, modern, energy efficient buildings, better accommodation that will promote and allow for more integrated and independent living as well as some wonderful new services.
It’s Andrew’s passion for what will be achieved for people with learning disabilities in the region that is driving ‘Design for Life’ towards success. Funds from the Appeal have already funded a brand new horticulture centre, which is enabling many more people with learning disabilities to gain valuable skills and confidence, Self Unlimited is now working with planners and architects to begin the major phase of this groundbreaking exciting development.

A final word from Andrew Collinge:
"Please do help to support our Appeal. After many years of involvement with Self Unlimited and the work at Stanley Grange, I have seen first hand how the support provided can really make a positive difference to the quality of life of some of the most disadvantaged people in our society. The proposed developments on the site are key to transforming the lives of the people we support at Stanley Grange as well as allowing them to be much more included in society."
