Projects requiring funding
Every year we need to raise over £1 million of voluntary income to keep our additional services running, so that the people we support can take part in activities they enjoy, learn new skills, and have employment opportunities.
These services aren't funded through statutory routes -but make a big difference to the lives of the people we support.
Currently we support over 500 people with learning disabilities to take part in these activities.
We aim to:
Provide real choice to the people we support.
Help people we support gain confidence and build self-esteem.
Help people we support to gain employment.
Help remove barriers that people with learning disabilities may face in the work place.
It is our long term goal to establish community enterprises that will provide occupation and employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities. These enterprises are carefully designed so that they offer appropriate employment and training opportunities for the people we support.
We have already developed a number of these, including the Olive Tree bistro in the West Midlands, Sussex Orchards in the South East, and catering and cafe enterprises in several regions.
We need funds to cover the essential costs - which are not directly funded through any government funding- to enable us to continue to deliver these additional services.
